Saving lives through research

In Yorkshire, for Yorkshire

More people are diagnosed with cancer in Yorkshire than in most other parts of England and, sadly, more people die. Yorkshire Cancer Research exists to change this. We fund vital research and pioneer innovative new services for people with cancer.

Together, we are helping more people live longer healthier lives, free of cancer.

A £3.1 million trial will investigate the benefits of introducing genetic cancer screening for all women over 18 years. Thousands of women in Yorkshire will be offered tests to find out if they are at high risk of cancer as part of this new clinical trial. The findings could transform the way women, and their families, find out if they are at high risk of cancer, giving them choices in the steps they can take to prevent cancer.

Every 17 minutes someone in Yorkshire is told they have cancer. Our aim is to change this, for good.
