A preloved clothes and accessories sale to remember and celebrate the life of Hazel Ingleby has raised more than £2,778 for Yorkshire Cancer Research.

“Inspirational” Hazel, from Cumberworth, Huddersfield, passed away in October 2021 at the age of 52, after being diagnosed with breast cancer. She left behind her husband Jonathan, son Nathaniel, and many loving family and friends.

Jonathan said: “Haz loved her family, friends, and fashion. It is heartening that her things will be ‘reloved’ by family, friends, and new owners in the future.

“We are delighted that an incredible amount has been raised so far, and confident that more money will be raised through Yorkshire Cancer Research’s charity shops, to help fund pioneering cancer research in Yorkshire.”

Yorkshire Cancer Research funds world-leading research to help prevent, diagnose and treat cancer in the region. The funds raised by Hazel’s friends and family will help to continue funding this vital work.

The event, held at The Woodman Inn in Thunderbridge, was organised by Kirsty Charlesworth and five of Hazel’s close friends, supported by Yorkshire Cancer Research’s Huddersfield Volunteer Group.

More than 100 family and friends came together to support the sale of stunning items of Hazel’s clothing, shoes and accessories and raise vital funds for world-leading cancer research in Yorkshire.

A cake stall and charity raffle also featured, with generous donations of raffle prizes from businesses in the area.

A selection of nearly new clothing and accessories was also donated to Yorkshire Cancer Research’s charity shops.
