Why work with us content
If you are looking for a new challenge where you are known as an individual, recognised as a professional and trusted as a team member, Yorkshire Cancer Research could be the place for you.
A team with a purpose
To fund research that saves lives in Yorkshire.
The charity funds multimillion pound research projects, works with some of the UK’s leading cancer experts and interacts with tens of thousands of people every year to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer.
To achieve this takes a team of talented and committed individuals, working together to deliver impact with integrity.
Changing the Future
As a charity, we are dedicated to bringing about change in Yorkshire by funding pioneering research that makes a difference to people's lives today and for generations to come. This commitment to improving the lives of people in Yorkshire extends to all our team members. By enabling people to be their best, we believe we can change the future and save lives.
A Learning Culture
We empower people to take responsibility for their own learning and development. Our Learning Hub offers a range of development tools and training, allowing colleagues to experience real opportunities for role fulfilment and career progression. We are proud to offer the opportunity for apprenticeships and internships for those starting out on their career path.
Growing Our People
Yorkshire Cancer Research is growing - in terms of our team, our research ambitions and our future vision. We are looking for people who want to grow along with us and the wellbeing of our team is of the utmost important to us. Our benefits package promotes a good work/life balance and we offer a range of support services through our Employee Assistance Programme.
Yorkshire Cancer Research is made up of four departments:
Research, services and policy
Led by Dr Stuart Griffiths, the team is responsible for the research that the charity funds. They work with key partners across the region and some of the UK’s leading cancer experts to identify opportunities to save lives in Yorkshire.
Brand and Relationships
Juliet Glendinning leads the team responsible for raising the profile of our charity across the region, communicating the work we do, attracting and inspiring supporters and raising vital life-giving funds.
Finance and Corporate Services
Headed by Joanne Mornin, this team provides key services to support the charity’s strategic aims through specialisms in a wide range of areas - from managing our financial accounts to recruiting and developing people to digitising our organisation.
Retail and Operations
Our expanding Retail team is led by Tony Graham. The charity’s retail network is constantly growing and evolving, opening new shops and retail concepts with an ambition to have a shop on every high street in Yorkshire.
